BCLQ 2nd Ed. and what it means for Queensland

Queensland waited a long time for a textbook like Body Corporate Law in Queensland (BCLQ) to be produced and released.  It had not been done before mainly due to the complexity in bringing together all the elements of the law, policy and procedure in one space.

'Body Corporate Law in QLD - Practice and Procedure' 2nd Edition (BCLQ) is the first Body Corporate Law textbook of its kind for Queensland, now incorporating the recent amendments to the Regulation Modules that accompany the Body Corporate and Community Management Act.  The textbook has been widely used by practitioners throughout Queensland since it was first launched in 2018.

The textbook is designed to simplify the fragmented nature of Body Corporate Law by bringing all relevant materials together on each distinct topic, thereby assisting the practitioner to quickly navigate the law, whilst understanding both case law and practice implications against the statutory framework, namely, the Body Corporate and Community Management Act 1997, associated Regulation Modules as recently amended, other legislation and policy documents that influence the interpretation and application of the law relating to bodies corporate.

It is a textbook and reference on Body Corporate law for legal practitioners, body corporate managers, resident unit managers, property developers and indeed anyone that owns a unit in a body corporate.  BCLQ has, since its release been a trusted resource that will be continually updated in later hard copy editions, a loose-leaf service and eBook formats as new case law and further law reforms take place in the future.
